The collaboration between B.Visible and Anda Reverie acquaints us with a mixture of trip-hop and dream pop in a manner that’s utterly elegant. Austrian producer B.Visible defies categorization as he seamlessly hops between diverse genres like breaks, house, and garage. His newest release „Bad Karma“ however is calming yet raw when it comes to the production and possesses a playful, tongue-in-cheek demeanor throughout the songwriting. Anda Reverie soothing vocal delivery accentuates the dreamy allure of the track, especially towards the second half when glittery keys complement her vocals in the mix.

… How would you describe your development as an artist in terms of interests and challenges, searching for a personal voice, as well as breakthroughs?
After learning the craft, my main ambition was to position me more or less on the left field side of music production. The functionality of the music was secondary, it had to be different wether expressed by wonky rhythms or exotic / intense synth sounds. My first album marked a bit the end of this era. I knew I wrapped up everything I wanted to say and it was time to move on.
So over the last two years my preferences really shifted to making more enjoyable sound in every aspect. I gave up on too high frequencies and quirky synths and focused more on warm and pleasant sound sources.

The second album by B. Visible is an attempt to break free from stagnation. The urge for change confronts the Viennese producer with their own reality. Honestly, who isn’t occasionally caught right now, letting their gaze wander into the distance? Almost involuntarily, a movie starts playing in our minds, captivating us intuitively. Even if its images are only vaguely discernible, we feel a strong desire within us. The urge to explore this inner stirring further. B. Visible is someone who has taken the step into the great unknown. „In Between Places“ bears witness to where the pursuit of change as a driving force has ultimately led him…
FM4 Soundpark Act of the month // Pleasant Clutter LP

If one of the biggest hits of the year is based on a type beat, major streaming services are saving themselves royalties by means of fake artists, and machine-based compositions are no longer immediately distinguishable from man-made songs, then music has become predictable in the full sense of the word.

This is also the struggle of Viennese artist, B.Visible, especially since the electronic dance and hip-hop genres within which he mainly moves are particularly rich with rules and formulas. The title of his debut album, “Pleasant Clutter”, is therefore to be considered less as a middle finger towards the followers of Marie Kondo and more as a plea for more surprising turns in music: “This has always been an essential part of my productions. A little chaos, and then putting it all together in the end so that it works out and sounds like something.”
At the end of this process, in which the producer extracts various melodies, sounds and grooves from his musical machinery and then assembles them into a coherent whole, there stands a highly successful vinyl release. With its shimmering synthesizers, thick chords and attentive attention to detail in its rhythms, “Pleasant Clutter” neatly joins a contemporary canon with such Viennese contemporaries as Dorian Concept or Cid Rim, while retaining its own unique sound. True to B.Visible who’s will to surprise himself and others, a completely unexpected sound can come around the corner at any given time and the structure of the instrumental song can drastically change in an instant.

B.Visible keeps on melting the barrier between analog and digital. The Viennese producer, skilled at blending sharp electronic components with dusty acoustic layers, has a new track, in which he continues to explore sound textures. This time, he decided to dedicate it to the beautiful sea creatures, which are held in captivity, just for the sake of decorating our living rooms. So let’s not use fish, but music to cheer up and make our lives more colourful.
“Seadoo” will bring you somewhere, where you haven’t been before. With its joyous percussion and vibrant plethora of playful percussion, organic sounds, flutes, horns and vocal samples, it will send you somewhere in nature, where the only thing that follows its schedule is the divine choreography of life’s rhythm.
Now, you might even be able to choose: between the Amazonian mysterious forest or the ocean bed. Both, full of incredible forms of existence, where you’ll be surrounded by the ecstatic movement of living creatures. Feel free to let loose and get lost in whichever you choose – “Seadoo” is your ticket for a meditative trans, after which you’ll feel much more connected to yourself and life’s source.

B.Visible, aka Peter Kalcic, has a library of jazzy electronica music deeper than your feelings. Like most Austrian people I’ve encountered, he’s really well versed in electronic music. From Cid Rim, to Seb Zilner, to Ant Antic. I think Austrians grow up with synthesizers as toys, and when the world isn’t watching they actually talk to one another, not in Austrian, but in altering sine wave patterns.
With the music video for „Like TLC,“ B.Visible has imagined his own alternate reality, although his is more realistic than mine. The video, below, is well worth a watch:

Wavering between beats, electro and bass, the four tracks that compose the EP mix brutality and tenderness. The rythm is voluntarily rough on the edges : he uses a ‘stop and go’, plays with the bpm and introduces robotics in his tracks. The high pitched voices bring the final touch, with futuristic melodies and very 90’s synthesizers. The result is truly astounding and very different from what we are used to hear. It’s a bit like a glimpse into the future we could’ve had in the 90’s, with flying cars etc. An EP that is futuristic but with old school roots. A mix of trends between old and new school that I really enjoyed listening to because it isn’t just a series of tracks, it has the power to get you motivated and make you feel like a million bucks.
